This project includes raising the elevation of Washington Ave from LaFontaine Ave to Front Beach Drive. This project will also include replacing the water and storm drain along this section of Washington Avenue. The purpose of this project is to make a safer evacuation route due to tidally influenced flooding.
Tidelands has approved the first portion of the project; additional funding awards are currently being awaited. Design is underway.
