Overview
The Planning Commission (PC) consists of seven members appointed by the Board of Aldermen. The PC members are selected so that the Commission consists of one resident member from each ward, along with an at-large member who may reside in any ward. The PC may make recommendations about the Comprehensive City Plan for the City’s future development. It also prepares and recommends to the Board of Aldermen rules controlling the subdivision of land and makes recommendations regarding the approval or disapproval of plats for land subdivision, lots splits zoning changes and conditional zoning permits. The PC is a recommending body with final decisions to be made by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
