The primary goals/missions are to promote tourism; to provide progressive leadership for economic and community vitality for the greater Ocean Springs area, Jackson County, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast; and to enhance local culture and preserve quality of life through planned growth, diversification, and beautification.

Ocean Springs was discovered in 1699 by French explorer Pierre Le Moyne d'Iberville. Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce was established in 1947 as the City’s Chamber of Commerce with an executive director, staff and board of directors.
In 1989, the City of Ocean Springs became a national main street community designating the Chamber as the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce – Main Street. Today, the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce - Main Street - Tourism Bureau is a non-profit, private organization located in the heart of downtown and not only serves to promote and preserve, but also informs as the official city’s visitor center.
The Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce-Main Street-Tourism Bureau is a three-tier organization acting as the marketing arm of the City of Ocean Springs with a mission to promote tourism, provide progressive leadership for economic and community vitality for the greater Ocean Springs, Jackson County area and Gulf Coast and to enhance local culture and preserve quality of life through planned growth, diversification and beautification.
Key areas include business and public relations, marketing, business development, economic development, design, tourism development and promotion and event development and execution. The three-tier organization focuses on membership via Chamber of Commerce, where local businesses gain networking, marketing, promotion and commerce opportunities, preservation of the downtown and Main Street district via the Main Street organization, and branding, marketing and town promotion to residents and visitors via the Tourism Bureau. The Chamber of Commerce also works to provide a strong calendar of events and activities for the community.
Coast Transit Authority (CTA) is a non-profit provider of public transportation for the three coastal counties of Mississippi. It is an independently managed public utility that is governed by a Board of Commissioners. It is the designated recipient of State and Federal funding for urban transportation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. CTA does have ADA compliant transit. Please contact CTA at 228-896-4010 to receive a customer application to request certification of ADA Paratransit eligibility.
