Mandatory Mask/Face Covering Inside City Buildings
Effective Friday, July 10th at 8am


Ocean Springs, MS – The City of Ocean Springs is now requiring a face covering or mask to be worn by the public to enter any City Building. Any City Employee within close proximity to the public, interacting with the public, or in a public area will be required to wear a face covering or mask. Locations such as Court, Police Department, and Fire Department may have varying levels of requirements for face coverings or masks.


Effective Monday, July 13, 2020 Governor Reeves’ has made it mandatory to wear a mask or face covering in all public places and shopping centers. Until the Order is effective, the City of Ocean Springs highly encourages the public to wear a face covering or mask when in any public place to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. We recommend thoroughly washing hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer before and after visiting a public place. We also want to stress the importance of social distancing. Please make sure to stay 6 feet away from others if possible.


The Chamber of Commerce will be providing free cloth masks to the public on Friday, July 10th from 9am to 12pm at the Visitors Center located at 1000 Washington Avenue. You can reach the Chamber at 228.875.4424 for questions.
