Emergency Notification System
Ocean Springs, MS: The City of Ocean Springs has launched CodeRED, an emergency notification service provided by OnSolve. The platform will allow the City to communicate with residents and personnel by sending telephone calls, text messages, emails, posts to social media and mobile app messages to inform residents of emergencies and better protect life and property.
All residents living in the City of Ocean Springs are encouraged to visit Oceansprings-MS.Gov and click “Code Red Emergency Notifications” on the homepage or text OCEANSPRINGS to 99411to enroll. You can create a managed account or sign up as a guest.
CodeRED is equipped with a Weather Warning system that automatically notifies those in affected areas of tornados, flash floods, and severe thunderstorm warnings just moments after an alert is issued by the National Weather Service (NWS). To OPT-OUT of the Weather Warning system you must create a managed account and unclick these notification options, the OUT-OUT option is not available on guest accounts.
A managed account will provide access to OPT-IN to other categories, such as “Festivals & Events” and/or “Temporary Road Closures/Traffic Issues” and OPT-OUT of categories as well. To sign up as a guest, you will be registered to receive all notification categories, including the Weather Warning System. Under a managed account you can add additional phone numbers for your household, such as children, spouses, grandparents, or others living at your residence.
Please help us get the word out those who do not frequent social media, news outlets, and/or newspapers! Text OCEANSPRINGS TO 99411 to enroll now.
**No one is pre-registered into the CodeRED system, you MUST sign up to receive notifications from the City of Ocean Springs. **
