Relay App (Neighborhood Watch)
Starting February 1, 2021, the Ocean Springs Police Department has partnered with Relay for a modern-day approach to neighborhood watch. Relay is a community engagement platform to help connect first responders with the citizens they serve, creating a space for community protection to thrive. Relay’s products create easy avenues to help, report, and communicate in real time, while putting privacy first. For more information and to download the Relay app you can visit relayapp.com.
The Relay mobile app goes live on February 1, 2021, for all Ocean Springs (City limits) residents and visitors who wish to download the app. As an option to phoning our Dispatch, the Relay app allows citizens to report non-emergency crime and suspicious activities in real-time, as well as to receive direct alerts and updates from the Police Department.
It is important to remember that Relay is not designed to replace 911. All emergency situations must be reported via phone to 911 or 228.875.2211. As with all other cell phone usage, do not utilize the app while operating a vehicle or in any other way that compromises safety.
