Exact dates vary by sport. We generally we open registration 2-3 months before practices start to allow for adequate coach recruitment. OSPR only opens as many registration spots to fill teams we have coaches for. Once the league reaches capacity, join the waitlist! If/ when coaches are identified, players on the waitlist will be given a passcode to register.

Our control date follows OSSD and is the age of the player as of 09/01 of the current academic school year. Parents can play their child up a division by one year, with OSPR approval. (If your child is 10 but wants to play in the 11-12 Division. Please email the athletic coordinator prior to registering.) We do not allow children to play down a division.

Each player is provided a team jersey.

Every player will make a team. Think of tryouts like a skill evaluation.
Tryout attendance is not required. Players who do not attend may be considered a hat pick during the drafting process.

Following tryouts, the coaches will draft teams. After drafts, the coaches will reach out to players within a week. Coaches are responsible for scheduling practices and will vary between 1-3 practices per week in the preseason.

Practices are determined by the coach, and the OSPR court availability.
Depending on final team numbers and court availability, teams will play (on average) once per week, with the occasional 2 games per week.
Court sport games are Monday-Thursday at 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm, and Saturday mornings/ early afternoons as needed.
Football games (flag and tackle) games are Tuesday/ Wednesday at 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm, and Saturday mornings/ early afternoons as needed. -

If you live in Wards 1-6, yes. Anyone who lives outside of city limits, including Jackson County, is considered a non-resident.
