The City of Ocean Springs has named Captain Ryan Lemaire as the Interim Chief of the Ocean Springs Police Department. Lemaire was appointed to the position at the Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting on October 3, 2023, after long-time Chief Mark Dunston retired. Lemaire has over 22 years of experience in law enforcement.
“I’m honored to be selected as the Interim Chief. Thank you to the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen for appointing me,” said Lemaire. “I am proud to continue to serve the Ocean Springs community in this capacity.”
Lemaire holds a master’s degree in criminal justice administration from Columbia Southern University. He recently served as the Criminal Investigation Captain.
“Ryan Lemaire shows exemplary leadership in our city,” said Mayor Kenny Holloway. “He is a great choice for Interim Chief, and I believe he will be an even greater asset to the department and our community in this new role.”
Lemaire is married to Amanda, and they have six children.
