Communications

The City of Ocean Springs seeks to inform its residents, businesses, and visitors by engaging in a proactive communications system. This approach recognizes that one of the most effective and quickest ways to communicate City policies and activities to citizens is by working in partnership with the news media.

The Communications/Public Information Office:

  • Provides strategic counsel on message development for the Mayor and the various departments, divisions, and enterprises of the City;
  • Plans and executes special events and projects that advance administrative priorities;
  • Manages relationships with local, regional, and national print, broadcast, and online media outlets;
  • Organizes Mayoral press conferences, local and national interviews, and announcements.

This office also manages digital communications such as the City newsletter and various social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
